Did you know that youth employment is at a 60-year low and student loan debt is approaching nearly $1 trillion? Generation Y is the future of our country, yet it is more and more difficult for Millennials to start off on the right foot.
Today kicks off the #FixYoungAmerica campaign. The #FYA initiative will work to provide politicians, educators, community leaders, executives and ordinary citizens with information and solutions to issues affecting Millennials and future generations.
The #FixYoungAmerica campaign was organized by the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) along with dozens of partners nationwide. The YEC has seen the programs and policies that get results when it comes to helping young people and want to apply those nationally to help #FixYoungAmerica.
The YEC-led coalition will spearhead a crowdfunding and mainstream media campaign, host various events across the country, and launch the official #FixYoungAmerica book, a compilation of essays on entrepreneurship written by America’s brightest intellectuals, nonprofit founders, philanthropists, educators, politicians, and entrepreneurs.
Some of the key campaign goals include:
- Testify in a Congressional hearing about issues facing young entrepreneurs and ways to solve them
- Gain traction in the mainstream media to generate greater awareness for the campaign
- Get hundreds of additional NEW solutions (not featured in the book) from leaders to expand the conversation and further our goal to #FixYoungAmerica
