Job searching can be a huge time commitment. Not only do you have to scour the Internet for positions you qualify for, but you also have to perfect the cover letter and resume, execute the appropriate follow-ups, go through the interview process, etc.

The task can seem daunting, but a new app aims to greatly cut down on your time spent searching for suitable positions. TweetMyJobs is a free app that turns your phone into a convenient job-seeking tool. All you have to do is set up an account, and the app will use a GPS-enabled map to track jobs in any city you prefer. From there, you can read job descriptions and find out how to apply.

TweetMyJobs claims to feature over 400,000 open positions, and allows you to search by role, industry or location. You can even save your job preferences and receive text message alerts when there are new job matches that meet your criteria. The app is helpful to everyone from industry professionals to college students looking for a part-time job; a quick search for any area turns up jobs ranging from software developers to coffee shop baristas.

Overall, the app is easy to navigate, and makes for a convenient tool that takes care of much of the legwork when it comes to the job search process. It’s a great way to find a job on the go, which is especially useful if you’re a student, have another job, or otherwise don’t have time to sit down at your computer to search all day. After all, what could be more convenient than receiving a notice about a job in a text message and clicking the link to apply?

What do you think? Would you consider using an app for your job search process, or do you think there are better ways to research? Share your thoughts below!
