Some of you may have always dreamed of being a chef, but have you ever thought about an unusual twist such as a submarine cook? A job in CSI intrigues many, but how about a career in crime scene clean-up? Are you scratching your head in wonderment yet?
To many of us, we don’t stray too far away from the traditional when it comes to our workplace. A job consists of a business suit, sitting in a cubicle, adhering to emails, and attending meetings at the top of the hour. An infographic created by Payday One lists unusual jobs and their paydays in two different categories: adventurers only and desk jobs with a twist.
We often don’t get a wide-eyed look of surprise and oozing portrayal of interest when we tell others what we do for a living. Lucky for some, there are a multitude of unusual careers that are able to draw the “wow-factor” as well as a paycheck to prove their exclusivity.
Let’s imagine what it would be like respond to the question, “What do you do for a living?” with one of these unusual jobs:
1. Airplane Repo Man
What happens when someone can not afford the plane they just bought? A repo man or woman earns 6% to 10% commission on the resale price of planes they find.
Possible earnings: $10,000 to $900,000 per plane repossessed.
2. Ethical Computer Hacker
Is there really such a thing? The so-called ethical hackers find glitches and weaknesses in computer systems of businesses, not personal identities.
Possible earnings: $120,000 a year.
3. Voice Over Artists
Have the voice but not the look? Voices on the radio and in movies often times have a familiar sound, mainly because this is their job. Experienced voice actors can earn more than $300 for an average of 5 minutes of finished audio work.
Possible earnings: $50,000 to $80,000 a year.
