Is Your Office Environment Stress-Free? [INFOGRAPHIC]

by Julie Mastrine on August 3, 2012

Creating a favorable office environment is more important than you think. We each spend a huge chunk of our lives at work, so de-stressing our space is a must. While it’s important to know how to handle our work without stressing out, there are also a number of small ways you can tweak your workplace to create a calm and healthy office environment.

This infographic, which comes to us from Intuit by way of the Daily Muse, focuses on an aspect of our jobs that is often overlooked–office space as a healthy living environment. I’m a huge proponent of the ideologies of feng shui, an ancient Chinese art that today focuses on adequately balancing the energies in a room and creating a favorable living environment. Now it seems many employers and employees are placing a focus on this concept in the workplace, as well.

For instance, the infographic details an architecture firm in Denver that raised its ceilings and installed a skylight, resulting in 59 percent of workers reporting their personal productivity had increased. In addition, six percent of Millennials said they’d accept a pay cut in exchange for a healthy office environment, and one in three workers has accepted or left a job due to the condition of the building or amenities offered.

So what are some ways you can improve your own office environment? Check out this infographic for a few ideas:
