Americans may put in some of the longest hours of workers around the globe, but those hours might not necessarily be spent benefiting their employers.

With an estimated $134 billion in annual payroll loss being attributed to employees spending time on tasks that aren’t work-related, it’s time to ask yourself how much of your work day is truly dedicated to work. While you may feel that simply browsing the Internet during a spare moment isn’t affecting your employer, you owe it to yourself and your employer to take a deeper look into what lies behind the way you’re spending your time on the clock.

In fact, the majority of employees say their lack of responsibility affects their work ethic. And while most employers understand there’s a certain amount of lost productivity in their workplace, most won’t like to hear that 29 percent of their employees spend roughly one to two hours of the work week on non-work related tasks.

This infographic by Bolt Insurance takes a deeper look into the various ways employees spend their time while at work, as well as the factors that contribute to lost productivity. Use this information to increase workplace productivity, and get an inside look at what might be going on at your office.
