by Brittany Schlacter on February 25, 2013

It’s that time of year again! College students everywhere have (hopefully) begun their search for their summer internships. Across majors and industries, both student job seekers and employers are preparing for a successful summer of internship programs.

But not every internship is created equal.  No, I’m not just talking about the difference between being a paid or unpaid intern. Internships come in all shapes and sizes, some opportunities provide a plethora of hands-on experience while others seem to focus more on menial tasks. It’s important for internship seekers and companies everywhere to understand the importance of internships that provide engaging, challenging and valuable educational experiences for interns.

During Glassdoor’s second annual report of the Top 20 Highest Rated Companies Hiring Interns Right Now, they looked to interns to help uncover the companies holding the top spots for their outstanding internship programs.
