Heather R. Huhman, editor and media relations
Heather R. Huhman, founder & president of Come Recommended, has more than a decade of public relations and marketing experience, specializing in media relations, content marketing, and social media. She is also a well-recognized career expert, an experienced hiring manager, and someone who has been in nearly every employment-related situation imaginable.
Heather knows and understands the needs of today’s employers and seekers. Heather has a master’s certificate in Internet marketing from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Marikaye DeTemple, client lead
Marikaye DeTemple, Come Recommended’s Client Relationship Director, has a B.A. in public relations, and an A.A. in business, with an emphasis in sports journalism from Penn State University. Prior to joining Come Recommended, Marikaye gained experience across a range of public relations and communications settings. She began with reporting and broadcasting for a local radio station, followed by experiences within nonprofit organizations, governmental and advertising agencies. As a client lead at Come Recommended, Marikaye loves the challenge and rewards of working with a dynamic team to ensure idea’s come to light.
When not on Skype, Marikaye can be found at the local soccer fields volunteering as a coach and serving as a board member. She believes in the effectiveness of using sport as a means to teach youth life-long lessons.
Marikaye resides in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Katie Farrell, editor and media relations
Katie Farrell, our Vice President, received her B.A.A. in integrative public relations and journalism from Central Michigan University. She is experienced in media relations, social media, editing, and content creation, among other things.
Katie started with Come Recommended as the media relations intern, started working as the public and media relations manager within six months, was promoted to director after nine months, and received her most recent promotion after a year and a half with the organization.
She currently resides in Okeechobee, FL with her fiancé and two dogs.

Morgan Glennon, content creator
Morgan Glennon, senior content creator, graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies. Since graduating, she’s worked at the second largest newspaper in Japan as a staff reporter assisting international correspondents in the New York bureau. She gained experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment. She also gained production experience, having interned at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and independent films. In her free time, she enjoys freelance writing on the topic of entertainment and television, with her work appearing on BuddyTV.com, Hello Giggles and The Huffington Post among others.
Morgan currently resides in New Jersey.

Julie Mastrine, content creator

Julie Mastrine, senior content creator, received her B.A. in public relations from Penn State University. She has gained experience across a range of communication settings, including public relations, journalism, blogging, event planning, media relations, content creation, and social media.
Julie got her start as a reporter and promotions manager for PSU’s student-run newspaper, followed by various PR and social media internships. To date, Julie’s work has been featured in over a dozen media outlets. Along with writing, Julie is also passionate about politics and civic engagement, particularly social justice issues like women’s rights. She helps nonprofit organization Stop Street Harassment with its social media and blogging efforts.
Julie currently resides in State College, PA.

Nikita Patel, content creator
Nikita Patel, director, is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a major in mass communications (public relations) and a minor in business administration. Before joining the Come Recommended team in 2010, Nikita had the opportunity to work in multiple industries including travel and tourism, hospitality, and entertainment. Through those experiences, Nikita developed strong interests in both branding and product development. Those interests were the forefront of her decision to join the Come Recommended team.
Nikita currently resides in Chicago, IL.

Brittany Schlacter, content creator
Brittany Schlacter, content creator, graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in public relations and a minor in fashion. During her time at BSU, she rose to the position of Assistant Director of Cardinal Communications, Ball State’s renowned student-run advertising and public relations agency. Prior to joining Come Recommended, she gained valuable branding, integrated marketing, public relations and social media experience by interning with agencies in Chicago, IL and Indianapolis, IN. She also led public relations and marketing efforts for the fashion events produced by Ball State’s fashion program.
She currently resides in Grand Rapids, MI.

Kristen Wishon, social media and video production
Kristen Wishon, community & digital coordinator, holds an M.S. and B.S. in journalism with a concentration in public relations from West Virginia University (WVU). Prior to joining Come Recommended, Kristen gained public relations, editorial and promotional writing, and social media experience through several health & pharmacy-focused internships in West Virginia. Her graduate studies also allowed her to further develop her research and writing skills, writing an original thesis on the social media and traditional media tactics of the CDC. Through her writing and research, Kristen gained a love for all things PR and social media.
Kristen currently resides in northern West Virginia.
